About Hydre
Hydre is a type rendered with a flow of dynamic particles that leave semi-transparent traces behind. It uses the glyph outlines of standard font formats, like TrueType and OpenType, to control the motion of particles attracted and trapped by letterforms. The particles slowly fade in to fill the glyphs, start moving bounded by the outline of the letters, and are susceptible to forces applied when the mouse button is pressed.

Hydre was built with
Processing and
NextText. It allows to easily adjust parameters to create different styles (e.g. light, medium, bold) by adjusting the number of particles and their tracing behaviour.
